As an effort to parse traffic congestion, Jakarta Provincial Government is about to widen Jalan S Parman, precisely near Taman Anggrek Mall, Slipi, West Jakarta, in 2015. The road widening will be carried out under Grogol Flyover until Kebon Jeruk Toll Road.
They (central government) agree with our plan. But its administration matters must be backed up in order to avoid unwanted things in future
Due to it is categorized as national road, there must be a
permission from Public Works and Public Housing Ministry first.
Head of Jakarta Public Works Department, Agus Priyono
disclosed road widening along Jalan S Parman had been coordinated with Public
Works and Public Housing Minister, Basuki Hadimujono and Head of National Road
Implementing Agency, Bambang Hartadi.
"They (central government) agree with our plan. But its
administration matters must be backed up in order to avoid unwanted things in
future," he expressed, Tuesday (12/16).
He explains such project aims to add one lane and is
predicted to be effective in parsing congestion. Considering, the road is the
primary road that connects the city with other cities. "I am optimistic
that the road widening will be able to parse congestion," he disclosed.
He added that there must be agreement from central
government first. In addition, the granted permission does not mean the
authority transfer, but is leasing.
"So, Public Works and Public Housing Ministry's land is
for road construction, where its asset remains their authority," he
uttered.
